The Vision

When our clients first began considering a renovation, their home had great potential but felt increasingly dated and disconnected from the way they wanted to live. The kitchen no longer reflected modern functionality, the bathrooms were outdated, and the living room lacked the custom built-ins and design elements that could elevate the space. While the house had strong bones, it needed a comprehensive transformation to match the homeowners’ lifestyle and aesthetic goals.

What started as a focused renovation of the kitchen and bathrooms soon evolved into a larger whole house remodel. As the design process unfolded, new ideas emerged that expanded the project’s scope — including the addition of a wine cellar and an entirely new bathroom created by excavating the crawl space below the home. Through thoughtful design, careful planning, and close collaboration with the homeowners, the project ultimately transformed the residence into a sophisticated, highly personalized living environment.

While the scope grew, the homeowners embraced the opportunity to fully realize their vision. The remodel became not just an update, but a complete reimagination of the home’s functionality and character.

Kitchen

The kitchen quickly became one of the central priorities of the remodel. The existing space felt dated and lacked the functionality needed for modern cooking and entertaining.

The new design focused on blending refined aesthetics with practical performance. Custom cabinetry was installed to maximize storage while maintaining a clean and cohesive visual appearance. Carefully designed cabinet layouts ensure that everything from cookware to small appliances has a dedicated place.

One of the key design goals was maintaining a sense of openness while increasing storage capacity. The original kitchen already had a reasonable amount of storage, but the homeowners wanted a more organized and efficient system.

Additional pantry-style cabinetry was incorporated into the nearby laundry room, creating an extension of kitchen storage without overcrowding the primary cooking space. This thoughtful approach allowed the kitchen to remain streamlined while still providing the functionality the homeowners needed.

High-end appliances were integrated into the design, elevating the kitchen’s performance while complementing the refined aesthetic. The result is a space that feels both luxurious and practical — designed for everyday use as well as entertaining guests.

The kitchen now serves as the heart of the home, connecting naturally to surrounding living spaces while offering improved workflow, organization, and visual appeal.

Bathrooms

Updating the bathrooms was one of the primary motivations behind the remodel. The original spaces felt outdated and lacked the level of comfort and design detail the homeowners wanted.

Through the renovation, the bathrooms were completely reimagined with modern layouts, updated fixtures, and carefully selected materials. Each space was designed to feel fresh, refined, and cohesive with the rest of the home.

One of the most ambitious additions came from the decision to excavate the crawl space beneath the house. This allowed the team to create an entirely new bathroom alongside the wine cellar, significantly expanding the home’s functional footprint.

Transforming a crawl space into conditioned living space required careful planning, structural considerations, and permitting coordination. However, the result was well worth the effort. The new bathroom provides added convenience and flexibility while supporting the homeowners’ entertaining lifestyle.

Throughout the bathrooms, thoughtful design choices ensure both comfort and durability. Updated plumbing fixtures, modern tile selections, and improved layouts contribute to spaces that feel both luxurious and practical.

Wine Cellar

One of the most distinctive elements of the remodel was the creation of a wine cellar beneath the home.

By excavating the crawl space and conditioning the area, the team was able to introduce a dedicated storage environment designed specifically for wine collection and entertaining. This feature adds both character and functionality to the home while making use of previously unused space.

The wine cellar reflects the homeowners’ lifestyle and appreciation for thoughtful design, serving as both a storage solution and a unique feature within the home.

Why Armada?

The decision to partner with Armada came down to trust, professionalism, and personal connection.

During the early conversations, the homeowners appreciated the approach and expertise demonstrated by the Armada team. The collaborative relationship with sales and the design team helped them feel confident that their vision would be understood and executed with care.

Another key factor in their decision was a recommendation from a previous Armada client. The feedback they received was honest and encouraging. The previous client spoke positively about the quality of the work, the professionalism of the team, and the overall experience of working with Armada. Just as importantly, they shared that any challenges encountered during the project were handled transparently and professionally.

This level of honesty helped our clients to feel confident moving forward. Seeing a completed Armada project firsthand and hearing direct feedback from a previous client reinforced their trust in the team.

Ultimately, the decision came down to a combination of factors: strong personal rapport with the Armada team, confidence in professionalism and expertise, positive recommendations from previous clients, and a collaborative design-build approach.

That foundation of trust helped guide the project through its expanding scope and evolving design decisions.
